Sunrise!! Maybe it Comes with Winter?

 October 19, 2021

Oh my goodness!  I wake up to find that dawn is just breaking in all its spectacular glory! Our first real honest-to-good sunrise!

Site of the great pokes!

Eventually we go down to breakfast and all the staff is so friendly and welcoming!  I don't understand why the other hotel guests aren't as charmed by them as we are! After breakfast we go upstairs and Ammar says he needs to go out for a few hours.  He is preparing a surprise for me and I'll find out what it is when he gets back!  I've learned not to ask questions!!  He is full of surprises and I haven't been disappointed yet!!  I'll merrily blog and listen to Spotify.  The mind boggles at the possibilities!

I'm researching a good Turkish restaurant for tonight and there seems to be a street with several on it!  And I learn that the market with the Soviet memorabilia is called the Dry Bridge Bazaar.

Eventually I get a text asking me to meet Ammar in front of the Galleria Mall.  The cuties at reception call me a cab and make sure I get into the right one, which delivers me right to the front entrance.  We finally connect and Ammar tells me about his day!  Silly rabbit was at a tattoo parlor!  He wants to have my picture tattooed on his chest, over his heart!  Luckily that's a lot more expensive in Georgia than he anticipated and, of course, would take hours and hours!!  Much as I'm flattered, I'm kind of glad that fell through.  It would be kind of creepy to be looking at myself on his chest!!

We had thought to have Turkish food for dinner;  but as we're walking we find an Iranian restaurant and Ammar says their food is amazing!  We can sit on the sidewalk (okay, realliy at a table on the sidewalk) and enjoy the cool weather and eat fabulous food!  Can't go wrong with that!  Maybe we can go to Iran next time!  As long as the US and Iran are still on speaking terms!!

The Saxophone Player is famous enough to make Trip Advisor's list.

I would never have known it was Iranian.  The sign advertises several specialties.

I'm really gonna need a set of these one day!

I'm a member of the clean-plate club - rice doesn't count!

After dining we walk a little further and find a wine shop!  (Oh, what a surprise!). After a lot of discussion we buy one bottle for tonight.  We'll probably find another tomorrow so that Ammar can take it home with him. He wants to drink a glass and imagine that we are enjoying it together!

Time to find a taxi who is willing to drive to our hotel with breaking the bank!  It only takes two tries and we are finally home for the night.  Ammar comments that there must be fifty ways to reach our hotel  (sorry Billy Joel!)

Sun rise and sunset in the same day!  Wow!

I was dubious about buying something we hadn't tasted;  but it's delicious!
I think you really can't go wrong here!
