The Weather Turns (part one)

October 10, 2021

That gorgeous blue sky might still be out there; but we can't see it.  I guess it won't be a shorts day, after all.  Actually I prefer this cooler weather anyway!  We both sleep in this morning but I eventually do get up and gear up for the day.  I wake Ammar to tell him that I'm going down to breakfast where I don't think I can face a full Turkish breakfast!

I ask for oatmeal with fruit, which I've seen on the menu.  The young man produces a different menu.  I ask for another one, hoping for yesterday's. Nope, that's not it either! Finally there is a third menu and it's the one with my choice on it!  I wasn't expecting there to be three different breakfast menus! I Georgian tea to my order and sit at my accustomed table.  (It only takes twice, right? And this is my third day!)

He comes back to ask if I want bread. I'm dubious since I think my gluten sensitivity is kicking up, for I agree. Then he comes again with something about the tea??  Maybe the other one is being brewed fresh, would I prefer that?  Sure, whatever, how far wrong can you go with tea!

My preconceived notion about oatmeal was based on what they had on the buffet in Tbilisi.  Nope, this is completely different and the fruit and nuts come in a separate little dish.  It's all good and I'm sure that my tummy will be much happier with this today.  And it really is very tasty and the tea is lovely and oh my goodness that's a huge piece of bread!  Good think I was planning on bringing it back to Ammar because I could never have eaten all that!

Back upstairs we talk about the day and agree that heading out later to see 6 May Park, the Dolphinarium, and the dancing fountains would be good.  Ammar's tummy isn't happy about all the wine last night.  And mine has been a little hinky, too.  Taking a break this morning is a good idea. Perhaps we can time our afternoon outing to coincide with sunset. And maybe we'll go back to the fish market!  That sure was fabulous last night!

I've about seen all the things that were on my list, since Ammar's fear of heights keeps us from the Argo Cable Car ride up the mountain.  It's amazing that he is able to fly to see me!  Thank goodness for good drugs!
